can you put a 3-9x40 scope on a spyder MR-1?
that would really be helpful in sniper situations.
isn't a spyder mr1 a paintball gun? the 3-9x40 scope is intended for target practice/ hunting for longer ranges than paintballs can fly. A basic 4x32mm is more suitable, not only is it less expensive, you really don't need a 3-9 power because paintballs can't shoot far enough to need the 9 power zoom. And that at higher powers, the gun will feel less accurate than usual when the paintballs do not hit where the crosshairs are at.
Most guns/airsofts/airguns/paintball guns sell add on's to allow users to add scopes and other stuff on to the gun later. Search online for them if there is one for the mr1. If not, you can make a custom rail to add scope to the gun.
Generally scopes can be added to guns even if they don't have rails by milling/cutting a rail into the top of the receiver. Alternatively, some guns have screw-on block of metal to screw into the top of the receiver so you can add a scope to it.
In the case of a paintball gun, you could probably add a 1x1 block of metal or wood to the top of the gun, securely attach it with epoxy or glue it on. On the block of wood/metal you would have previously ground/milled/cut rails on to it to attach a scope to it. Most 3-9x40 or 4x32 scopes would come with 3/8" mounts for rail. Simply mill/cut away the metal block so that it has a 3/8" rail that fits the grips for the rail on the scope.
For the job you would need hand tools like a hacksaw and sanding tools. To grind/cut/mill the rails, you can use a dremel tool to do that. Strong epoxies are sold is any hobby stores, hardware stores, and specialty stores.
