Mossberg maverick 88 Question.?
Ok so I just bought a Mossberg Maverick 88 12 ga Shotgun. I really did not want this one I wanted the 500 but this is all they had and I needed to buy my last gun before the year ends.(tradition)
I am aware of that this pparticularshotgun has no pre-drilled holes to mount any optics, scopes, etc.
I really don't want to have to leave this shotgun at a gunsmith because they always take forever and charge an arm and a leg for simple fixes. Is it possible I can drill them myself so it can accept a scope?
Do you have a vise and a drill press? Have you ever used taps before for making threads? I still don't know if the Maverick can have it done, but you'll need those tools and experience to do it if it can.
You can buy any Mossberg 500 barrel that has a cantilevered scope mount, also.
You should have waited to get what you really wanted. Wouldn't tradition have let you buy one from GunBroker and had it shipped to your dealer for pickup next week?
