' BUSHMASTER AR- 15 / XM -15 E2 S REVIEW

Good scope for an AR-15?
i just bought a bushmaster AR-15.its my first rifle ive ever purchased.and i was just wondering what a good scope would be to put on it.im not much for magnification,im thinking more along the lines of HALO or reflex scopes.maybe something more tactical.any ideas of what is best, for a reasonable price?
All of the scopes I am going to list below have either 1x or at most 4x magnification. They all utilize the Bindon Aiming Concept (Both eyes open for quick target aquisition). They all have illuminated reticles, red dots, or HOLO sights, but not all of them are battery dependant. They can all be found at http://www.swfa.com/c-2183-riflescopes.aspx They have every optics system imaginable, and they have a lowest price guarantee.
The gold medal goes to the Trijicon ACOG. This scope was designed for the AR/M4 platform. They have models with 1x magnification or up to 4x. Some models caliber specific"full line illumination." Meaning your main crosshairs will be zeroed at a hundred meters, while the ones below it are accurate at 100 meter intervals out to 800 meters! They aren't bettery dependant, but illuminated. Expect to pay $800 plus for this, but it is worth every penny. Oh yeah, and they are tougher than a boot. No soldier I know would turn down an ACOG for an EOTech. *Ever since Trijicon mated with Docter Optics (tiny HOLO sight mounted atop the ACOG) for its higest end model ACOG ($1,350) it has DOMINATED both CQB, and long range combat optics. You simply cannot get both of these qualities in one package except in an ACOG.
The silver medal is EOTech's. At $400, they make one tough piece of kit. But this scope is centered around close quarters. It has no magnification, unless you want to pay another $400. You will miss out on further distances at the range, and you might as well use irons sights than try to hunt with it. It is pretty grainy, but it always works. It is battery dependant , but runtime is like 800-1000 hours though.
The bronze goes to Aimpoint at $400. Still the king of the good 'ole "red dots". It is battery dependant too, but has a runtime life longer than Methusala. No magnification, unless you want to buy a $350 extra attachement.
Brass award I guess you could call it goes to Leupold. They are great scopes, but most of them have great magnification for longer range work. They do have a new "red dot" style scope that is not battery dependant, called the "tactical prismatic" I have yet to test it, so I cannot comment on it. But since it is Leupold I would buy one blindly knowing it is a good product. They also claim it is the toughest thing they have ever built. The scope is $500.
If you don't plan on taking the rifle into combat, might I suggest a scope that has almost all of the above features, plus some for a third of the price. TruGlo makes a multi-reticle(5 types of crosshairs you can switch between), multi-colored(red or green) illuminated reticle scope. There is your choice of 1x or 2x illumination, so you can at least reach out and have a little more fun. BEST OF ALL, IT IS $134 BUCKS. If you aint going to the middle east, this scope will make you more than happy. Have a look http://www.swfa.com/pc-11169-1673-truglo-1x30-dual-color-red-dot-sight.aspx
Good luck, and happy shooting. Nice first rifle too.
