new job and how to be contro over it?
just got a new job being a marketing manager. Im so used to being that for 5 star hotels and now i have switched my industry to indoor golfing. Plus its a new business and my boss is so unorganized and expects me to know everything. gees! He does tell me specifically what is my job scope and throws different things different days.. Arghh please advice and tell me what to do.. Will someone give me a job scope so I wont look useless. I know nothing about golf business!
OK - you need to know everything about marketing in an indoor golfing business.
Your experience is as a marketing manager for a 5-star hotel, so you know all you need to know to get started and get your job going.
FIrst find out from your boss 1) What your business is promoting 2) What your budget is 3) What makes your business better than the competition in your field.
From there, develop a plan to promote your business in the community. If you've had any customers so far - do you have their names and addresses or emails? IF not - start collecting them NOW for future marketing.
ALWAYS look for ways to KEEP your customers coming back -- ALWAYS!
It's very expensive to get a new customer. It costs NOTHING to have a customer come back the second time and buy, because, if their experiences are positive and enjoyable, your customers will return - especially if invited.
That's a TINY start on things you can do immediately and with great return.
