Rifle scope NcSTAR 6-24X50 AOE rangefinder: how do you use the reticle?

i have a scope, which is listed above, and i know in the middle of the scope there are "crosses", used for MOA adjustment, but there is something below the looks like a funnel that i dont know how to use, and there is no manual for the thing. here is a link for the scope: http://ncstar.com/new/productDetails.php?PID=89

My friend had one of those stolen from him.

I imagine that you have to frame an object you estimate to be however tall the instructions tell you (i.e. 6feet tall) You take the 6ft. target and "frame it".

Framing is putting the top of the target (head) level with or slightly under top line of the rangefinder. The bottom of your 6ft. target would rest on top of whatever line it took to frame it.

Whatever line it took is your estimated distance usually in 100 yard increments. If your target is less than 6ft. or the recommended height, you must adj. accordingly (e.g. 3ft would be 1/2 of the 6ft. value assigned in dist.)

I don't own an NC Star but my scopes work as I described except with 3ft. rangefinder target for varmint. I put the top of the critter flush with my horizontal reticle, and then set the bottom of the critter level with whatever yardage line.

Try Shepard scopes, they have stadia circles that are way simple to use! Good luck.
