What is a good long range scope for a 17hmr?

got a savage 17, put a bsa scope on it 6-18x40, terrible scope, blurs bigtime. need a good cheap one with good zoom. have a great little tasco on my 22, real cheap, but clear. not enough zoom though. need to be a good one for about 150.
ok little extra, I do need a scope with higher zoom, over nine, what we are hunting are very hard to see and you need very precise shots, especially with the price of 17 ammo. I don't feel like throwing away a quarter every time i miss.
The BSA sweet 17 is the scope i have, terrible, worthless piece of S H I T. I can't believe they actually sell it, they should pay me to take it.

Horrible advice
1. The 17hmr is way too accurate to target shoot with 4x
2. Any BSA product is not worth even looking at in the store let alone bringing a second one home. You have found that out first hand already so don't make the same mistake twice. If you must have a 17calibrated scope go with the Cabelas series --- but I see no reason at all why you need one.

I've got a 4x14x40 Tasco World Class on my Marlin 917. It's an alright scope for the price but starts to blur about 12x. For 70 dollars at the time, it was a no brainer. With the 17hmr being a short to medium range rifle, you may not need more zoom but rather just a clearer scope.

The Mueller brand is suppost to be very good and within your price
For general purposes, I'd be looking at the 4.5x14x40 which is 17.5oz
For true long range use you can use the 8.5x25x50 which is 22oz
