how good are 300 wsm Winchester Model 70's?
i traded my 270. for a 300 wsm...i was wondering how good they were...i had a bushnell dusk and dawn scope on my 270...50 mm?
for a 300 wsm.... with a 3x5 50mm Leupold Vari-x III and was wondering if i got a good deal...
my 270 was a newer Model....both bolt action..my 270 was a synthetic stock...but i was wondering...if i got a good deal that 300 for a 270...thanks.
This is a tough one to call. You traded a perfectly good .270 for a 300wsm, the Leupond Vari-X II is an excellent trade scope wise. They only thing that jumps out at me on this deal is that I don't undersatnd why you traded in the first place. The 300 wsm is a good cartridge but considered a "maverick" "wildcat" by most shooters, not to mention the limitations the 300wsm has in the number of viable bullet weights and loads options available. Of course if you intend to shoot your own loads and reloads you should do quite well. In my Gun Shop, most of the customers I've had for the 300wsm rifles decided to do the upgrade and just get a 300 WinMag instead of the 300wsm. This is one of those that you have to decide for yourself, Shoot your 300wsm and see how it works for you. Then come back for feedback here. Just a suggestion.
