.50 cal. CVA Elipse 209 "Magnum" Muzzleloader, is a 2 X20 Bushnell Banner a good scope for it?
A Hunting Friend of mine mounted and bore sighted a 2 X 20 Bushnell Banner scope on my muzzleloader. I haven't tried it yet, do you think it is a good scope for my muzzleloader from 0 - 100 yards?
The factory sights are still intact, the scope is marked and mounted, so you can still use sights or leave scope on.
* I recommend you not scope the CVA. You lose your perspective in the woods. You ought to be able to see your target well enough out to 100 yds. I DO recommend (highly) a red-dot scope w/o magnification. Quick target aquisition, sharp aiming point, no loss os target switching from line of sight to red dot, no eye relief concerns.
I use them on my smoke pole, my shotgun, my Ruger Blackhawk for anything that wanders within 100 yds - pigs, deer, javalina, bears, elk.
