How much for AR15 scope and 12 mil spec mags?

Somoene is trying to sell me 12 ar15/m16 mags. The scope is the original first made model aimpoint comp scope. The other comp scopes after werecompm1,2,3 and now 4 (which it is not - it might be a comp c - but he says comp m - he sent me a picture..)

He said he will take $165 - everything is worn and used - but works fine... including mags...

IS THIS A GOOD DEAL OR NOT AND WHY?

The best deal I get on new 30 rnd mags is $11.00 each, some places are charging as much as $25,00 ea for them. I see the 20 rounders for around $12.00 and up ea. But, if you buy from this guy, you will end up rebuilding those mags, as in replacing the old style springs that didn't hold up well, and installing new non tilt followers. Kits for that run anywhere from 3 for $5.00 on up to as much as $5.00 each. And if the bodies are dented, well that is another kettle of fish and I would pass on them. The scope is OK, IF it is in 100% working order. Those early models had a tendency to shoot themselves loose. Meaning the cross hairs may move. You won't know for certain until you mount it on a rifle and do some serious target shooting. Fire it at 25 yards or so, on a god target from a solid rest and watch for the rounds stringing off in one direction or another, or scattering the shots around the bulls eye. You won't be able to tell it's condition just by looking thru it. So get him to let you put it on the rifle. If he won't, odds are it is not up to par. So, knowing all this, YOU have to decide if it is a good deal or not.
