Would airsoft scopes and rings work for real guns?
I have a real M14... thought I could save by buying Airsoft M3 scope and rings. Would this work?

Lol, I own a Norinco M14, it costs $500USD in a New Zealand gun shop. I started out with Airsoft before I moved onto real guns. I havn't actually shot my M14 yet, but I own several Airsoft guns. There is high quaility airsoft gear aswell as the cheap rubbish shit. I was just wondering if anyone tried with the higher quaility airsoft parts to see if they worked... The rings I linked are made of steel, though most other rings are made of zinc, which is soft and shit.
I think airsoft gear is sometimes hit or miss. It might work, and it might not.
I've actually had pretty good success with the G&P brand. They're a producer for the Chinese military, but also dabble in airsoft gear. I have one of their "aimpoint" models mounted on a Kel-Tec SU-16 (you can see I really like "value" things). It's gone through just under 500 rounds without losing zero or coming loose. And if working for a .223 wasn't enough, I have one of their "burris" models on my Mossberg 500. It sticks and stays on, not sure what else I could ask for a speed sight on a shotgun.
Oh, and I also use their "surefire" flashlights. Cheaper than the real thing, and again hangs on nicely to a 12 gauge shotgun.
So yea, I'd say that some airsoft products will work on real firearms. Up to you to test them first though, and to test them thoroughly. You don't want to show up at the competition and find out that your red dot is winking out after a few magazines, or that your scope is drifting.
