How hard is adjusting an airsoft sniper scope?
I just ordered the Mauser sr22 and I want to know how hard it is to adjust the scope, how much you have to adjust it, and how long it takes.
It takes less time when you know what you're doing, but it should take you something like ten to fifteen minutes if the scope isn't too out of whack out of the box.
Steps:
1. Mount it - Take the bottom half of the scope rings, rest the scope on the bottom halves where you would like the scope to rest. With the tops still off, make sure the scope is level and also shoulder it an adjust your eye relief by tugging or pushing on the scope slightly.
2. Secure it - When you have everything plum, take the tops and screw them on snugly. If each scope ring has 4 bolts, tighten then in a crisscross pattern.
3. Zero it - Take the rifle and find a firing range of about 150 feet or more. Set the rifle down on something you can use as a rifle rest so you can have accurate shots to measure. Make sure there is no wind. Without adjusting your scope, make sure you first adjust your hop-up the way you like it. Then take shots, if the BB is too low to to high, the top turret needs attention. If it is too much to the left or the right, actuate the right hand turret. The turrets are probably under screw-off covers and may be coin-turned. Use a dime. This is the most laborious part of the process, but it is worth it to have your sniper rifle replica perfectly sighted in. Your scope will most likely come with an operation manual telling you how to zero it and how to turn the turrets.
