looking for a nice but simple scope for a 22 rifle?

i have a Remington 552, .22 rifle which I would like to put a nice scope on. It is notched and set up to receive the scope already. I'd like a nice scope but obviously nothing too fancy...... after all, its a .22. I use it mostly for target shooting and some varmints from time to time. Any suggestion you can give are much appreciated. Also, price wise... nothing too fancy or expensive.... again... its or a .22. Thanks for the help everyone.

I have had a cheap Nikko Sterling on my Brno No 1 for over ten years and it still works great. Check them out
